Explore the local area during your stay at Hoods Croft.

There is plenty to do in East Sussex. Brighton and Lewes are on our doorstep, and there are lovely local gardens and galleries, as well as the Bluebell Railway just up the road.  Glyndebourne, Plumpton Racecourse, the South of England showground, Hickstead and events in Lewes and Brighton mean something is going on all year long!

And for cuisine, Brighton has lots of great restaurants, and we are lucky enough to have several great dining pubs within easy reach.

Places to visit

Places of interest

Brighton has a wealth of attractions to seek out. You can visit the famous Brighton Pier, walk along the always interesting beach, see the sea life at the world’s oldest Aquarium, pay homage to the incredible architecture and history of The Royal Pavilion or spend some time wandering around the unique shops and cafés in the Lanes. For art and culture, the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and local street art are worth checking out.

Places to eat and drink

There is a good selection of local restaurants, and some will do takeaways, but unfortunately, there are no delivery services – we are quite remote!

In Newick, there is the Newick Tandoori, and in Haywards Heath on the Broadway, you can find Zizzi, Pizza Express, Cote, Thai Crystal and several fun wine bars.

There are many amazing restaurants in Brighton & Hove – our favourites are Burnt Orange, Flint House, The Coal Shed, Salt Rooms, The Ivy Brasserie, Ivy Asia, Riddle & Finns and The Giggling Squid… and in Hove, The Ginger Pig and Rockwater.
